Seattle U To Close Non-Conference Schedule at UCSB: After winning two of their last three, at home versus Montana State (Dec. 14) and at LMU (Dec. 19), Seattle University (5-7) will close out their non-conference schedule at UC Santa Barbara (4-7) on December 28. In defense of last year’s regular season title, the Redhawks open their 2014 Western Athletic Conference schedule on the road at Chicago State (Jan. 2) and Kansas City (Jan. 4) before returning home for their WAC home opener versus New Mexico State (Jan. 9). As of Dec. 23, Senior Sylvia Shephard is just 33 points away from becoming the 14th player in program history to pass the 1000 career points mark. WAC Tournament All-Session Tickets Now on Sale: All-session tickets for the WAC Basketball Tournament March 12-15 are now available by calling the Redhawk Ticket Office at (206) 398-GOSU.

Scouting UC Santa Barbara (4-7): Their last win coming at the beginning of the month, on Dec. 3 at Pepperdine, 77-69, UCSB is currently on a four-game losing streak coming into this weekend’s game. This contest will close out a three-game homestand for the Gauchos before they close out their non-conference schedule at Utah on Dec. 30. Nicole Nesbit leads the team, averaging 17.1 ppg while Destini Mason is averaging a team-high 6.1 rpg. As a team, UCSB is averaging 67.0 ppg but giving up 69.8 ppg, and is being outrebounded, 36.0-31.7.
