Scouting Loyola Marymount (3-7): Despite their record, LMU is on a two-game winning streak going into this Thursday’s contest, as they wrap up a three-game homestand. Previously only defeating SU’s fellow WAC foe New Mexico State, 81-64, on Nov. 16, the Lions opened up the month of December with a close loss at Colorado State followed by a pair of home wins vs. Northern Arizona (Dec. 7) and UNLV (Dec. 14). Hazel Ramirez leads the  team, averaging 13.3 ppg while Deanna Johnson also averages in double figures, with 10.8 ppg. As a team, Loyola Marymount averages 64.9 ppg and allows 70.8 ppg but is outrebounding their opponents, averaging 43.3 rpg to 41.7 by their competition. Charity Elliott is in her second season at the helm, guiding the Lions to a 13-18 overall record but a 9-5 home record in her first season in 2012-13.

Scouting Cal State Fullerton (1-8): Cal State Fullerton, posting just one win on the season thus far, hosts Seattle U in their only game on the week. After topping Columbia on their home court on Nov. 22, 80-54, the Titans are on a current five-game losing streak since, most recently falling to Arizona State, 81-55, on Dec. 14. To wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule, Fullerton will also host WAC foe New Mexico State on Dec. 23 to wrap up a three-game homestand. Chante Miles averages a team high 14.4 ppg while Kathleen Iwuoha is also averaging in double figures (10.6 ppg) and grabs a team-leading 6.0 rpg. Daron Park, in his first season as leader of the Titans, is the first male head coach in Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball history. He most recently served as associate head coach at USC last season and, of note, was the associate head coach at SU’s former WAC foe Louisiana Tech from 2009-11.
