“This is a good chance for the coaching staff to work with players looking to play at the collegiate level,” said Fewing, the 2013 WAC Coach of the Year. “Nike ID camps are a great recruiting tool for us as we are able to work with the players and put them through training sessions that we use at Seattle U.”
The Nike Winter College ID camp will welcome players of all levels, ages 14 and older, and will be an opportunity for campers to train just like the Seattle U collegiate players. The coaching staff will be on hand to train, observe, and evaluate players as potential future Redhawks. Campers will compete in 11v11 games and will also have the opportunity to take a campus tour and participate in a Q&A session with the coaches and staff. The cost of the camp is $115.
This past season, Fewing, the Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, led the Redhawks to WAC Regular Season and Tournament titles as they became the first SU men’s team to qualify for an NCAA Division I Tournament since Mar. 1969. They also became the first SU men’s team to win a Division I Tournament game since March 1964 with a First Round win at Creighton on November 21. Having just finished his 20th season overall, Fewing boasts a 234-147-31 career coaching record.
