Seattle U Faces Trio of Pacific Northwest Foes: After opening the season with their first two games at home, Seattle U will travel a short distance across town to face Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. before heading south for a pair of games at Portland State (Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m.) and Portland (Sunday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m.). Next weekend, the Redhawks will return home to close out November hosting their annual Thanksgiving tournament, this year welcoming Drake, Cornell, and Coastal Carolina to the Connolly Center on November 29 and 30. Scouting Washington: Washington has opened up the 2013-14 season with a pair of losses at St. Mary’s, 91-81 on Nov. 8 and recently vs. Portland, 91-77, on Nov. 15. Kelsey Plum leads the team with 22.5 ppg while Talia Walton (20.0), Jazmine Davis (19.5), and Heather Corral (10.0) are all averaging in double figures through the first two games. Last season, the Redhawks took the Huskies to overtime but UW emerged victorious, 77-75, at KeyArena on Nov. 14.

Kate Lanz and Allie Brock led PSU with 21 and 14 points respectively in the season opener. The Vikings won both exhibitions vs. Simon Fraser and George Fox and, including exhibitions, open the 2013-14 season with seven straight home games. Last season, the Redhawks emerged victorious, 72-59, on Dec. 9 at the Connolly Center and lead the all-time series, 5-4.

Seattle U’s upcoming foe Oregon crushed Portland, 113-86, handing them their first loss of the season on Nov. 12 in Eugene. UP will head to face Montana on Nov. 18 before hosting Seattle U this weekend. Last season, Portland participated in SU’s annual Thanksgiving tournament, going 0-2 after falling to the eventual champion Redhawks, 63-61, on Nov. 23 and Boston College, 68-40, on Nov. 24. The Redhawks are 8-6 all-time versus the Pilots, going 3-0 over the last three seasons.
