The NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Committee has announced the field and bracket for the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship and Seattle University men’s soccer (10-8-4) will travel to Omaha, Neb. to face Creighton (9-8-2) on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. CT/5 p.m. PT. The squad is the first Seattle U men’s team sport to qualify for an NCAA Division I tournament since the men’s basketball team made an appearance in March of 1969.
SU is one of just two teams making their first NCAA DI appearance in 2013 alongside Quinnipiac.
After winning the Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, the Redhawks earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. En route to the tournament title, after receiving a first round bye as the No. 1 seed, SU defeated Air Force 2-0, in the semifinals on Nov. 15 and San Jose State, 2-1, in the title game on Nov. 17.
As the women’s soccer team qualified for the NCAA Tournament last weekend, Seattle U becomes one of just 17 schools to have both their men’s and women’s soccer teams qualify for the NCAA DI Tournament in 2013.
The winner of the first round match will advance to face Washington, the No. 2 seed, on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. PT at Husky Soccer Stadium in Seattle.
Creighton finished in fifth place in the Big East standings with a 4-4-1 conference record, falling to Providence, 2-1, in the Big East tournament quarterfinals. In 2012, the Bluejays advanced to the NCAA Tournament Final Four, where they fell to eventual National Champion Indiana, 1-0.

Ticket prices are as follows: $20 for upper level adult reserved, $15 for upper level youth reserved, $10 for lower level adult reserved, $9 for lower level adult general admission, $7 for lower level youth reserved, and $6 for lower level youth general admission for ages 3-18.
