The Seattle University athletics department has announced that the first Courtside Club Luncheon of the 2013-14 basketball season will take place Friday, Nov. 8, at the Silver Cloud Hotel - Broadway, located at 1100 Broadway.

Bill Krueger, affectionately known as the Crafty Lefthander, will be the special guest speaker on Nov. 8. Krueger has served as the lead baseball analyst for ROOT Sports since 2000 after enjoying a 13-year major league career. Prior to embarking on his career in professional baseball, Krueger was a two-sport star at the University of Portland in basketball as well as baseball.

The Courtside Club Luncheon is also one of the first opportunities for Seattle U fans to learn the inside scoop on the upcoming men’s basketball season from Cameron Dollar. Coach Dollar, now in his fifth year at the helm of the Redhawk program, will provide exclusive updates on the team, his outlook for the season and a scouting report on the team’s first opponent, the University of Washington Huskies.

Expectations are high this year as the Western Athletic Conference coaches have picked the team to finish second in the preseason poll. With a strong core of returning players and key new additions, Coach Dollar has set the team’s sights on the school’s first WAC men’s basketball championship.

The cost of the luncheon, with beverage service beginning at 11:45 a.m., is $30 per person. Lunch attendees will receive complimentary parking at the hotel (please enter from Broadway). Registration is available by clicking here or by contacting Greg Sempadian at sempadig@seattleu.edu or 206-398-4420.

The Seattle University men’s basketball first regular season home game is Wednesday, Nov. 13, against Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. at KeyArena. For season ticket or multi-game package information, contact the Seattle University Athletics Ticket Office at (206)398-GOSU (4678).
