The Seattle University women’s golf team maintained its 13th-place standing after Tuesday’s second and final round of the Rose City Collegiate, hosted by Portland State University at Langdon Farms Golf Club.
Senior Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) was Seattle U’s top finisher, shooting 79 (+7) in the second round for a two-day total of 155 (+11), finishing in a tie for 25th place. Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) moved up into a tie for 38th place after shooting 78 (+6) Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 157 (+13).
Juhee Lee (Manhattan, Ore.) posted the Redhawks’ best round of the day, shooting 77 (+5) to advance into a tie for 49th place with a cumulative total of 159 (+15). Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) improved on her first-round score, posting a second-round mark of 80 (+8) to end up in 68th place at 164 (+20), while Taylor Shweiki (Clovis, Calif.) finished in 83rd place at 181 (+37) after a second-round score of 88 (+16). Playing as an individual, Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) shot 81 in the second round for a two-day total of 160 (+16), good enough for a tie for 52nd place.
As a team, Seattle U improved upon its first-round score by seven strokes with a mark of 314 (+26), but remained in 13th place in the final standings with a cumulative total of 635 (+59). Oregon State duplicated its first-round score of 293 (+5) to win the tournament by 14 strokes, with Anica Yoo of Oregon State earning medalist honors by one stroke with a two-round score of 142 (-2).
The Seattle University women’s golf team will play its final three tournaments of the fall season in California, starting with the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate Oct. 12-13 at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
