The Seattle University women’s golf team struggled during the third round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate, finishing in 12th place after Sunday’s round at The Classic Club.
Juhee Lee (Manhattan, Ore.) posted the best third-round score among Redhawk golfers, shooting 77 (+5) to end the tournament in a tie for 25th place at 230 (+14). Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) shot 80 (+8) to finish the weekend in a tie for 31st place with a cumulative score of 231 (+15).
Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) also shot 80 (+8) in the third round to finish in a tie for 54th place with a three-round total of 237 (+21). Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) posted a score of 78 (+6) for the second consecutive round to finish the tournament in a tie for 57th place at 238 (+22), and Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) finished her round with an 82 (+10) for a 54-hole total of 245 (+29) to finish in a tie for 80th place.
Seattle University accumulated a third-round score of 315 (+27) for a three-round total of 936 (+72), ending up in 12th place in the final team standings. Despite not having a golfer finish in the top 10 of the individual standings, Cal State Fullerton won the team title by one stroke over Cal State Northridge, while Taylor Yoshitake of Cal Poly earned medalist honors in a scorecard playoff after shooting 213 (-3).
The Seattle University women’s golf team will head back to California for the Colby Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University Oct. 21-22 at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, Calif.
