For the fourth straight year, the Seattle University baseball team received an important assist from the local Italian Club, as the program benefited from the club's annual golf tournament at Echo Falls Golf Club.

Thanks to the efforts of alum Brian DiJulio, proceeds from the club's tournament go towards the Seattle U baseball program. Last year, DiJulio received the Most Valuable Person award at the Meet the Redhawks dinner not only for his work in organizing the golf tournament, but also for donating one of his band's gigs to raise money for one of the baseball team's charitable causes.

This year, more than 75 golfers participated in the Italian Club Golf Tournament, including Seattle U Baseball Dugout Club executive board member Mike Gibson, who won the KP contest. Gibson, a member of the Seattle U Athletics Hall of Fame, has been another key alum helping the baseball team after the sport was reinstated at the varsity level in 2008.

The Seattle University baseball team is currently in the middle of fall practice preparing for the 2014 season, the Redhawks' second year as a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
