After hosting Ohio and Bradley last Thursday, including SU’s first ever outdoor on-campus athletic contest “under the lights” vs. Bradley, as well as competing at the nearby Husky Softball Classic, Seattle University softball hosts Yale University for a doubleheader on Mar. 12 at 2 p.m. before traveling to Northridge, Calif. for the Cal State Northridge Invitational on Mar. 16-17. Scouting Yale: With their first week of competition of the season under their belt, the Bulldogs are currently 2-5 going into this weekend. They also competed at the Husky Softball Classic, topping Ohio and New Mexico. This season, so far, they are led by Lauren Delgadillo, averaging .450 at the plate, adding three runs on nine hits including one home run. In the circle, Chelsey Dunham posted a 3.54 ERA last week, striking out nine in 20.1 innings of work. They finished last season with a 12-34 record, going 5-15 in conference.

Last Time Out: In their first ever meeting, the Redhawks topped the Bulldogs, 6-2, on Mar. 9 at the Husky Softball Classic.

Scouting Cal State Northridge: The Matadors enter this weekend with a 10-16 record, winning two of their last three games, including a 3-2 win over UCLA on Mar. 6. They are led at the plate by Mikayla Thielges, averaging .359, also adding 14 runs on 23 hits as well as 10 doubles, five home runs, and 13 RBIs. In the circle, Mia Pagano leads the team with a 3.15 ERA, posting a 5-5 record, and striking out 36 batters faced in 66.2 innings pitched. They will host Northern Illinois for a doubleheader on Tuesday, Mar. 12 before hosting the Invitational Tournament this weekend.

Scouting Loyola Marymount: LMU enters this week with a 11-11 record after going 4-1 at last weekend’s USF Under Armour Showcase, defeating Penn State, LIU Brooklyn, Central Michigan, and Northwestern. Megan Harman leads the team at the plate with a .424 average, also adding 13 runs on 25 hits as well as five doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 16 RBIs. In the circle, Sydney Gouveia leads with a 2.10 ERA and a 4-1 record. Before traveling to Northridge, the Lions will face Bethune Cookman for a doubleheader on Mar. 12 and both Northern Illinois and North Dakota State on Mar. 13.

Last Time Out:
The Redhawks last faced LMU on Apr. 1, 2011, as their contests set for last season, Mar. 17 and 18, were cancelled due to weather. SU narrowly lost the contest, 11-10, in eight innings.
