This Week for the Redhawks: Seattle U (11-9, 8-3 WAC) suffered just their second and third conference losses last weekend at San Jose State and Utah State. The Redhawks look to rebound as they host Denver (11-11, 6-5 WAC) on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. and New Mexico State (9-12, 3-8 WAC) on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. Links to live stats, audio, and video are available on the women’s basketball schedule page at www.GoSeattleU.com. THURSDAY: The theme for the evening is “Take a Kid to the Game”, as all kids 12 and under will get free admission. SATURDAY: This game wil be the team’s annual pink game, with this year’s contest benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Play 4Kay Initiative.
Play 4Kay Game on Feb. 9: Seattle U women’s basketball will hold their Play 4Kay game on Feb. 9 as they host New Mexico State. Fans are encouraged to join the team, coaches, and staff as they hope to make a difference in the fight against women’s cancers through the 2013 Play 4Kay Initiative. If the team reaches their goal of $5000 by the end of the game, Coach Bonvicini has agreed to be pied in the face by one of her players at center court following the game. Fans can get involved by going to www.play4kay.org/seattleu, by buying a ticket to the game ($2 of every game ticket goes to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund), or by buying popcorn, pink wristbands, purchasing raffle tickets to win prizes, or participating in the silent auction at the game. Seattle University Alumni Relations will also be holding a post-game rally on the second floor of the Eisiminger Fitness Center in Group Exercise Studio A until 7 p.m.

Morgan Van Riper-Rose currently tops the Pioneers in scoring, averaging 13.8 ppg, and Maiya Michel averages a team-high 9.2 rpg.
