Family members of Carl Ervin, a member of the Seattle University men's basketball team in the late 1970s who passed away in June of 2011, came to the Connolly Center Wednesday for their first look at the Carl Ervin Wall, honoring Hall of Fame individual members who have died.

Ervin's wife Penny, his brother Charles, and his sisters Sarah and Yvonne were on hand to see the special panel, with Carl's number five and action photo serving as the permanent background. Also on hand for the small gathering were Ed O'Brien, the Seattle U athletic director during the time Ervin played who suggested the concept of the Ervin Wall to the athletics department, and Kevin Suther, a teammate of Ervin at Seattle U and one of his closest friends.

Bill Hogan, Seattle U director of athletics, and John Dougherty, athletics development officer, represented the university in welcoming the Ervin family to the Connolly Center.
