The Seattle University women's golf team closed out its fall season Tuesday, keeping hold of 10th place of the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
Clare Sorensen (Roseville, Calif.) finished in the top 25 for the third time this season, tying for 25th with an 11-over-par 157 for the tournament. She shot an 80, seven strokes over par, in the final round.
Three strokes back, Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) turned in another 7-over-par 80, her second one of the tournament. Gaddie finished in a tie for 36th with a score of 14-over-par 160, her best finish of the season.
Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) finished third for the Redhawks, tying for 45th after also shooting 7-over-par 80 during the final round. She finished the tournament with a score of 163, 17 strokes over par. One stroke behind Cook finished Monica Keo (Oahu, Hawaii), who took 164 strokes (+18) during the tournament and finished tied for 50th. Keo wrapped up the fall season by firing an 83, 10 strokes above par.
Rounding out the Redhawks' lineup, Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) shot 10-over-par 83 for the second day in a row to end the tournament with a score of 166, 20 strokes above par. Pearson tied for 60th place.
As a team, the Redhawks placed 10th while taking 644 strokes over the tournament, 60 strokes above par. Gonzaga won the team title with a score of 25-over-par 609 while Northern Arizona's Savana Bezidicek with an even-par 146.
The Redhawks now have four months off before their next tournament, the Red Rocks Invitational. That tournament will run March 1-March 3 at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.
