Redhawks to Close Regular Season at Home Versus Aggies and Pioneers: Following their longest road trip of the regular season to Louisiana Tech, the Seattle University women’s soccer team (7-7-2, 2-2-2) hosts New Mexico State on Friday, Oct. 26 (3 p.m.) and Denver on Sunday, Oct. 28 (12 p.m.) to close out the regular season. Sunday’s game will be Senior Day for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams, as seven Redhawks will play their final home game in Seattle U uniform: Melissa Busque, Heather Thomas, Carlee Norquist, Chelsea Jennings, Liana Heberer, Taylor Bolibol, and Renee Vandermause. The Senior Day presentation will begin around 11:45 a.m. prior to the match. Both days this weekend will see doubleheader action for the SU men’s and women’s soccer teams, and one ticket gains entrance to both games on the day. This weekend will also be Family Weekend at Seattle U, and vouchers for deals and discounted tickets for family members of SU students will be in each Family Weekend Packet. Following this weekend’s games, the top six of nine teams in the conference will travel to Logan, Utah for the WAC Championships on Nov. 1-4.

Leaders of the WAC: After ten weeks of competition, as a team, the Redhawks rank third in points (71), goals per game (1.56), assists (21), assists per game (1.31), tied for third in goals (25), fourth in fewest goals allowed (19), GAA (1.13), shutouts (5), and fifth in shots (223). In WAC play, as a team, they rank third in points (28), goals (10), goals per game (1.67), tied for third in assists per game (1.33), assists (8), and fourth in fewest goals allowed (6), GAA (0.92), and shutouts (2). Individually, in conference play, Stephanie Verdoia ranks tied for first in goals (5), goals per game (0.83), second in points (11), points per game (1.83), and tied for third in game-winning goals (1). Julia Moravec is also tied for third in game-winning goals (1). Brianna Smallidge ranks fourth in GAA (0.92), shutouts (2.0), shutouts per game (0.33), and is tied for fifth in save percentage (.750).

They are led by Layla Todd with two goals and five points and Elise Nordin with two assists and 22 shots. Mary Kate Koziol has also recorded two assists. In goal, Mikaela Bitner and Jessica Schutter have shared time, with Bitner recording 54 saves in 10 appearances and Schutter recording 34 saves in 11 appearances. In his second season, Blair Quinn is at the helm of the Aggies.
