The Seattle University athletics department and ROOT SPORTS are once again partnering to broadcast Redhawk men's basketball games on the regional sports network, with eight Seattle U men's basketball contests slated to be shown live on ROOT SPORTS during the 2012-13 season.

"We couldn't be more pleased to be partnering with Seattle U again this year," said ROOT SPORTS Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mark Jorgensen. "This is a program on the rise, and we are excited about showcasing Redhawk men's basketball."

The first game to be televised by ROOT SPORTS will be the regular season opener for Seattle University when it hosts Montana State in the Elgin Baylor Classic at KeyArena Sunday, Nov. 11, starting at 6 p.m. ROOT SPORTS will be back at KeyArena Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. for the renewal of the crosstown rivalry between Seattle University and the University of Washington.

Six Western Athletic Conference games involving Seattle U will be broadcast by ROOT SPORTS, starting with the WAC opener Saturday, Dec. 29, against Idaho at 7 p.m. After the Redhawks hit the road the next weekend, they will return home for two conference battles which ROOT SPORTS will televise: Thursday, Jan. 10, against New Mexico State at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, against Denver at 3:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Seattle U will host the UTSA Roadrunners at KeyArena starting at 7 p.m., and ROOT SPORTS will be there. The network will also broadcast the home game against Utah State Saturday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m., as well as the matchup between the Redhawks and the Denver Pioneers in Colorado Thursday, Feb. 7, starting at 6 p.m. Pacific time.

"Every time we have a game televised by ROOT SPORTS, it gives our guys and our fans the chance to prove themselves in front of a wide audience. We look forward to our supporters who are unable to attend every home game receive more chances to watch the Redhawks in action, but we hope that our fans will pack the Key to give those games a big-time environment," Seattle U head men's basketball coach Cameron Dollar said.

Two other Seattle University men's basketball games will be televised. The game between the Redhawks and the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 17, will be broadcast by ESPN3, with a start time still to be determined. The Pac-12 Network will pick up the clash between Seattle U and Stanford at Maples Pavilion Wednesday, Nov. 28, beginning at 7 p.m.

With the exception of the Virginia game as well as the Redhawks' contest at Texas State, all other start times have been established for the 2012-13 season. Seattle U's home games at KeyArena, as well as the game against CSU Bakersfield at the ShoWare Center in Kent Wednesday, March 6, will start at 7 p.m., except for the Nov. 11 game against Montana State (6 p.m.) and the Jan. 12 game against Denver (3:30 p.m.).

The Seattle University men's basketball team brings an eight-game home winning streak into the 2012-13 season. Season tickets for Redhawk basketball are currently on sale by going to the Tickets tab on GoSeattleU.com or by calling (206) 398-GOSU (4678).
