Seattle University softball held their first practice at
the newly renovated Logan Field at Seattle University Park. The complex will
serve as the home of Seattle U softball, as well as a practice field for men’s
and women’s soccer, a track for cross-country/track & field, and a place
for recreational, club, and intramural sports.
“We’re excited to be out at the new Logan Field,” said head coach Dan Powers. “I’m extremely excited, as it’s great for our players, our alums, and our future prospects. The future is pretty bright here at Seattle U.”
Reconstruction has been ongoing since mid March 2012. The new field includes a press box, field lights, and a field house, which houses a team room, concessions, facilities equipment, and more. The Logan Field playing surface is made up of a dirt infield and a turf outfield.
“I think it brings a whole new feel to the university, and it’s something we, as a softball team, can be really proud of,” said senior Allegra Wilde.
