The Seattle University baseball program welcomed its former players back for Alumni Day Saturday, Sept. 15, at Magnuson Park as the Redhawks completed their first week of fall practice.
Seattle U held its first intrasquad scrimmage of the fall at Frank Papasedero Field, named in memory of the longtime local baseball coach who led the Seattle U baseball program from 1976 to 1981 along with stops at Bishop Blanchet High School and Eastside Catholic High School before passing away in 2005.
The Redhawks are preparing for their first season in the Western Athletic Conference, with a chance to win the WAC title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Donny Harrel returns for his fifth year at the helm of the Seattle U program, with 22 players returning from the 2011-12 squad along with 11 newcomers to the roster.
