Redhawks Head South For Two Televised Pac-12 Contests: Coming off a 1-0 win at Gonzaga, and their third straight win, Seattle University women's soccer (4-2-0) heads south to face Oregon on Friday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. and Oregon State on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 12 p.m. Sunday's match will be part of the Oregon State Nike Invitational.

As Seen on TV: Both contests on the weekend will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network. Friday's match versus Oregon will be broadcast on the main Pac-12 Network and Sunday's match versus Oregon State will be broadcast regionally on the Pac-12 Oregon Network. Leaders of the WAC: After the fourth week of competition, Taylor Ritzman leads the WAC in points (9), points per match (2.25), and goals per match (1.00), and is tied for most total goals (4). Monique Escalera leads in assists per match (.50). As a team, the Redhawks rank second in assists per game (1.67), tied for second in shutouts (3), third in points (30), assists (10), and goals per game (1.67), tied for third in total goals (10), and fewest goals allowed (5), fourth in lowest GAA (0.82), and sixth in shots (97). They also rank second in the conference for longest unbeaten streak, with only Denver ahead. Two of the three WAC players to have recorded hat tricks so far are also Redhawks (Melissa Busque and Taylor Ritzman). Regionally, Seattle U also ranks ninth on the NSCAA West Regional Rankings for the week of Sept 11.
Scouting Oregon: The Ducks are currently 3-2-1, ranking ninth in the Pac-12 conference. Like Seattle U, they have also faced Portland State, who they also topped, 1-0, and tied St. Mary's, 1-1, who Seattle U beat, 5-1 earlier this season. Senior midfielder Scout Libke leads the team with 18 total shots, while freshman forward Kristen Parr leads with four goals. In goal, sophomore Abby Steele has started all six contests for the Ducks, recording 23 saves, while freshman Dana Connors has made three saves in one appearance. Last season, Oregon finished the season with a 8-9-3 overall record, finishing eighth in the Pac-12 with a 3-6-2 conference record.
Last Time Out: The Redhawks and Ducks last faced during the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 as part of the Oregon Nike Tournament. Oregon won the match, 1-0 behind a goal by Oregon's Jen Stoltenberg. Then-freshman Carlee Norquist was named to the All-Tournament team.
Scouting Oregon State: The Beavers are currently 6-1-0, ranking third in the Pac-12 conference. Oregon State also beat Portland State this season, 2-1, the only common opponent between OSU and SU thus far this season. Oregon State has fared better on the road so far in 2012, as they've gone 5-0 in road contests and 1-1 in Corvallis. Junior forward Jenna Richardson and junior midfielder Jacy Drobney lead the team with two goals apiece and senior midfielder Megan Miller leads with four assists and six points. Richardson also has recorded a team-leading seven shots so far this season. In goal, freshman Sammy Jo Prudhomme has recorded 18 saves in two starts and junior Audrey Bernier-Larose, in four starts and five appearances, has recorded 17 saves. In 2011, the Beavers finished 13-5-3 overall and 7-3-1 in the Pac-12, third in the conference.
Last Time Out: The Beavers and Redhawks last faced during the regular season on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, as Oregon State came away with the 3-0 win at Championship Field. Then-freshmen Mary Hill and Shawna Anderson made their first career starts in the contest.
