With autograph seekers waiting on 14th Avenue and a slew of media looking for the best angles, the 2012 United States Olympic Women's Basketball Team held its first practice in the North Court of Seattle University's Connolly Center Friday, May 11.
The team, coached by University of Connecticut head women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma, came together in Seattle for a weekend of workouts and games. After Friday's practice that lasted about 90 minutes, the squad faced China Saturday, May 12, at KeyArena, followed by a scrimmage against Japan at Seattle Pacific University Sunday, May 13.
Before the United States team arrived, the Chinese National Team faced the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA in a four-quarter scrimmage, won by the Dream behind U.S. team member Angel McCoughtry,
