SEATTLE U SOFTBALL FINISHES 2012 CAMPAIGN ON THE ROAD: The Seattle University softball team will play their final contests of the season in Eugene, Ore. at Pac-12 powerhouse, No. 15 Oregon. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 2 beginning at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available for all four games on www.goseattleu.com. SCOUTING OREGON: Oregon is 34-11 overall and 11-7 in the Pac-12 entering the doubleheader. The Ducks took two of three from then-No. 11 Arizona on Apr. 27-29 after taking one of three from No. 1 California on Apr. 20-22. Courtney Ceo leads the team with a .378 average, also recording 34 runs on 45 hits, as well as four doubles, one home run, and seven RBIs. The Seattle U doubleheader begins an eight game home stretch for Oregon, as they host Missouri on May 4-5, playing a doubleheader on May 5, before finishing the regular season with a three-game series versus UCLA on May 10-12.
SERIES HISTORY: The Redhawks are 0-4 versus the Ducks since returning to NCAA Division I play in the 2008-09 school year. On Mar. 24, 2009, Seattle U fell 10-7 and 9-0 in a doubleheader and on Mar. 25, 2010, they fell 5-3 and 4-0 in a doubleheader, both of which were in Eugene, Ore.
ULRICH NAMED PCSC MOUNTAIN DIVISION PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jessica Ulrich was named the PCSC Mountain Division Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 17 for her performance in the team's three victories over Utah Valley on Apr. 14-15. Ulrich earned two wins and recorded a 2.92 ERA (12.0 IP, 5 ER) in two starts. She notched her second complete game shutout of the season in the Redhawks' 2-0 win in the series opener on Apr. 14, allowing only five hits. In the series finale, she earned the win in the team's 7-6 victory, striking out three. On the season, Ulrich is 6-8 with a 4.43 ERA (79.0 IP, 50 ER).
NORTHERN COLORADO SERIES: The Redhawks played their final home series of the season versus Northern Colorado and honored senior Hannah Klein on Apr. 29. Klein went 1-for-1 at the plate in the series finale in the final home contest of her Seattle U career. Bubba Morrow hit her fifth home run of the season in game one on Apr. 29, and now leads the team in home runs. Sarah Petosa had a 19-game hitting streak through the series opener, and Mandie Sugita pitched 22.2 scoreless innings until the top of the seventh in game two of the series (Apr. 28).
