Seattle University head women's basketball coach Joan Bonvicini and her staff invite girls ages eight to 17 to participate in the Nike Girls Basketball Camp at Seattle University on Aug. 2-5, 2012. Participants will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and technique, practice fundamentals, and improve their game, all while having fun. Emphasis will be placed on developing fundamentals, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, and team play.

"The purpose of this camp is to teach and develop basketball skills," said Bonvicini. "Our Seattle University coaching staff and players will help make this camp educational and fun. Camp will emphasize individual skill development and organized team play. Daily instruction and stations will emphasize fundamental basketball and overall player development. Campers will compete on teams in order to apply their individual skill development to a team concept."

Bonvicini, the camp director, is one of the most successful coaches in women's collegiate basketball history, becoming the 18th coach in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach the 600-win mark in February 2007. She boasts 21 20-win seasons throughout her career and led the Redhawks to their first NCAA Division I postseason appearance in school history during the 2011-12 season.

Campers can choose from three different levels of participation in the camp as follows:

Overnight ($495)
Extended Day - 9am-9pm ($395)
Day - 9am-5pm ($325)

At time of registration, a $265 payment is due ($250 per session deposit + $15 per person non-refundable registration fee), and the remaining balance will be due by July 1.
