Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) was named to the All-WCC team after finishing the championship tournament tied for first at 224 (+8). This year, McCleary became the first SU golfer to win a claim medalist honors since Dave Wahlin in 1980, winning three tournaments this season: the Gonzaga Circling Raven Invitational, the Cal Poly Firestone Grill Invitational, and the Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational. She lowered her stroke average to 75 strokes per round this year and earned WCC All-Academic honors as well.
Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) was named All-WCC Honorable Mention after finishing the conference championships tied at ninth after firing 229 (+13) at the WCC tournament. Pearson tallied two top 10 finishes this season, with one additional top 25 appearance. Her strokes-per-round average fell by three, from 81.9 to 78.9, and she was also named to the WCC's All-Academic team.
The other members of the All-WCC team are Taylor Camany of Santa Clara, Michelle Condry and Maggie Yuan of San Francisco, Stephanie Corey and Victoria Fallgren of Gonzaga, and Liv Cheng, Alina Ching, Somin Lee, and Grace Na of Pepperdine, while San Francisco's Eyglo Oskarsdottir joins Pearson as All-WCC Honorable Mention.
The Seattle U women's golf team and 16 other SU sports will join the Western Athletic Conference July 1st, 2012 and compete in the WAC next season.
