In celebration of the partnership between Special Olympics Washington, Seattle University, and the University of Washington, Unified Sports presents the third annual Unified Soccer Experience, to take place Saturday, April 21, at Championship Field.

The event will begin at 12 noon with a women's soccer spring match featuring the Redhawks of Seattle U against the Huskies of Washington. At 2 p.m., the collegiate soccer players will hold a soccer skills clinic for Special Olympic athletes, followed by UNITY matches at 2:30 p.m. The day will conclude with Seattle U and Washington facing off in a men's soccer spring match starting at 4 p.m.

UNITY matches, which will also take place at halftime of each college soccer match, bring together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team. Seattle University partnered with Unified Sports in 2011, providing professional coaching clinics, athlete and partner clinics, league promotion, and student volunteers.

Admission is free to enter Championship Field and experience this special event. Seattle U athletic ticket representatives will be on hand to talk about season ticket options for the 2012 Redhawk men's and women's soccer seasons. For 2012, season tickets for reserved seats will cost $75 apiece per sport, with general admission season tickets going for $50 per ticket per sport. Information will also be available regarding the 2012-13 Redhawk Sport Pass and Rudy's Kids Club.

The Seattle University women's soccer team will be entering the Western Athletic Conference July 1, 2012, while the Redhawk men's soccer team will remain in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
