The Seattle University women's golf program is the only squad to have multiple representatives on the West Coast Conference Women's Golf All-Academic Team, as three Redhawks have been named to the squad, announced Friday by the conference office.

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) will enter next week's WCC Championships as one of the golfers to watch after winning three tournaments during the 2011-12 season: the Gonzaga Circling Raven Invitational, the Cal Poly Firestone Grill Invitational, and the Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational. The senior is majoring in mechanical engineering with a 3.58 grade point average, and she is receiving her second WCC All-Academic honor in as many years.

Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) is also on the WCC All-Academic Team for the second straight year, as she currently carries a 3.59 grade point average as a sport and exercise science major. The junior has played in every tournament for the Redhawks this season, finishing in a tie for ninth place at the Cal Poly Firestone Grill Invitational in the fall and posting top-25 finishes at the Cal State Fullerton Folino Invitational and the Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational in the spring.

Sophomore Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) has appeared in six tournaments for the Redhawks this season, including all four spring tournaments the team has competed in. Her best result this season is a tie for 14th place finish at the Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational, helping Seattle U finish in second place in the team standings. In the classroom, she is a journalism major with a 3.66 grade point average.

To be considered for the WCC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests, and must have at least sophomore academic and athletic standing with at least one full year of residence at the nominating institution.

The three Redhawks are accompanied on the WCC All-Academic Team by Taylor Camany of Santa Clara, Liv Cheng of Pepperdine, Victoria Fallgren of Gonzaga, and Victoria House of San Francisco. Camany joins McCleary and Pearson as a repeat honoree from the 2011 squad.

The Seattle University women's golf team will compete at the West Coast Conference Championships at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister, Calif., next Monday through Wednesday, April 16-18.
