SEATTLE U SOFTBALL ENTERS SECOND WEEKEND OF CONFERENCE PLAY TIED FOR FIRST IN PCSC MOUNTAIN DIVISION: Seattle University softball had a strong start to begin conference play, going 3-1 on Idaho State's home field in their first weekend of PCSC contests. This is the second straight season that Seattle U has begun their conference schedule with a 3-1 record, winning three of four games over Weber State during the 2010-11 season. The Redhawks won both games on Saturday, Mar. 31, 5-3 in game one and 4-0 in game two, and split the doubleheader on Sunday, Apr. 1, falling in game one, 2-4, in eight innings, and winning game two, 5-3. Seattle U and Weber State will meet for two days of doubleheaders, starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 6, and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 7. SCOUTING WEBER STATE: The Wildcats enter this weekend's contests with a 13-20 record after going 2-2 versus Northern Colorado last weekend. On Saturday, Mar. 31, they won 15-6 in five innings in game one, and lost 12-4 in five innings in game two. On Sunday, Apr. 1, they lost 13-6 in game one, and won game two, 3-1. The four contests this weekend will be the only games of the homestand for Weber State and they will head to Utah State for two contests on Wednesday, Apr. 11 starting at 1 p.m. PST. 

SERIES HISTORY: Seattle U and Weber State were both at the SpringHill Suites Invitational #2 at Boise State on March 22-25, but the two teams did not face. Since returning to NCAA Division I play, the Redhawks are 7-1 versus the Wildcats. Seattle U last faced Weber State for two doubleheaders on Apr. 9-10, 2011 to begin the PCSC schedule during the 2010-11 season. The Redhawks went 3-1 over the four games. In 2009-10, Seattle U went 4-0 versus Weber State.

IDAHO STATE SERIES:

The Redhawks began PCSC play by taking three of four games from Idaho State on their home field, marking the second straight year that Seattle U has started conference play with a 3-1 record. On day one of the series, Seattle U swept both contests, winning the first, 5-3, and winning the second, 4-0. On day two, the Redhawks fell in eight innings, 2-4, in game one, and won the second, 5-3. Richelle Ashburn's seven strikeouts in game one on March 31 tied for her season high (also on Feb. 26 vs. Santa Clara). Theresa Clark hit her first homer of the season in game two on April 1 and Lisa Maulden hit her second career home run in game two on March 31. Rogin Hardy had her first hits, run, and double of the season, batting 2-for-4 (.500) and recording one run and one double over the weekend.
