The Seattle University women's golf team played 36 holes Monday during the first day of the University of Hawaii's Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Kapalua, Maui.

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) is the highest-ranked Redhawk after the first two rounds, sitting in a tie for 25th. The senior followed up a first round 75 (+3) with 77 (+5) in the second to lie at 152 (+8) for the tournament.

Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) bounced back from a rough first round to shot 76 (+4) during the afternoon session to end the day tied for 45th.  She sits at 159 (+15) heading into the final round. Three strokes behind Quinn is Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah), who stands alone in 59th place after an opening day of 162 (+18).

Two Redhawks are part of four tied at 68th after the first two rounds of competition. Lori Pearson (Yakima, Wash.) shot 77 (+5) in the second round, but a 91 (+19) in the first round puts Pearson at 168 (+24) overall. Tied with Pearson is Monica Keo (Oahu, Hawaii) after rounds of 82 (+10) and 86 (+14) respectively, but Keo's score isn't factored into Seattle U's team score as she is playing as an individual.

Just one stroke behind Pearson and Keo stands Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.), while Michelle Grome (Edmonds, Wash.) rounds out the Seattle U roster. Grome, also playing as an individual, is playing in her first tournament of the year.

The Redhawks shot a collective 637 (+61) over the first two rounds and currently stand alone in 11th place. Colorado sits in first place in the team competition with a collective 588 (+12), while Daniela Holmqvist of California has the individual lead after taking 138 strokes (-6) throughout the first two rounds.

Seattle U will play the third and final round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic Tuesday with shotgun start set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. local time (10:30 a.m. Pacific).
