Senior Caitlin McCleary was named to the West Coast Conference Preseason All-Conference team Wednesday by a vote of the WCC coaches.

McCleary has played in all six tournaments so far this year for Seattle U, winning three of them. With her first individual title of the year at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational in September, McCleary became the first golfer from Seattle University to claim medalist honors since Dave Wahlin's West Coast Athletic Conference Championship victory in 1980.

This is not McCleary's first all-conference honor, as last year she was named All-WCC Honorable Mention. Also, McCleary was named West Coast Conference Female Golfer of the Month for her play last September, which included the Circling Raven win and a tie for fourth place at the Rose City Collegiate.

The Seattle University women's golf team was voted sixth in the WCC with 12 points in all. Pepperdine was voted first in the conference, earning four first-place marks and 21 points.

The Redhawks next hit the links Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27 as they head to Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii to participate in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic. Tee times for both days are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. PST.
