The Seattle University men's basketball team picked up both weekly and season-ending honors from both College Sports Madness and College Hoops Net, announced earlier this week by the websites.

Aaron Broussard (Federal Way, Wash.) earned First Team All-Independent recognition from College Sports Madness and All-Independent honors from College Hoops Net. Heading into the final game of his collegiate career, the senior leads the Redhawks with 17.8 points per game and 42 steals, plus he is second on the squad in rebounding with 6.5 boards per contest. Broussard, 13th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,427 career points, has scored in double figures in 22 games this season, including a career-high 34-point performance against Eastern Washington.

Senior Eric Wallace (Winston-Salem, N.C.) earned Second Team All-Independent honors from College Sports Madness after leading the team with 7.6 rebounds per game to go along with 9.1 points per contest. Wallace has also accumulated a team-high 41 blocked shots this year, tied for the fourth-highest total of blocks in a single season in Seattle U history. Wallace scored a season-high 19 points against Nebraska Omaha, plus he put together a stat line of nine points, 10 rebounds, and seven blocked shots at UC Irvine.

For his performance against Longwood last week, sophomore guard Sterling Carter (Seattle, Wash.) was named Independent Player of the Week by College Sports Madness. Carter hit six three-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the game, scoring 22 of his 28 points in the first half as the Redhawks jumped out to a huge lead early and cruised to a 111-74 victory over Longwood. This is the eighth time this season that a Seattle U player has received the weekly honor from the website, as Carter joins four-time honoree Broussard, twice-named Cervante Burrell (Sacramento, Calif.), and Wallace.

Seattle University (11-15) will look to extend its home winning streak to eight games when it hosts Portland State this Saturday, March 10, at KeyArena. Tipoff is set for 7:10 p.m., but fans are encouraged to come early to witness the Senior Night ceremony honoring Broussard, Burrell, and Wallace for their contributions to the men's basketball program. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster and at the KeyArena Box Office.
