Women's Golf Takes 10th at Folino Invitational

The Seattle U women's golf team remained in 10th all three days of the tournament in Industry, Calif.

The Seattle University women's golf team finished up play at the Folino Invitational at Industry Hills Golf Club Tuesday, holding steady in 10th place the entire tournament.

Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) bounced back from a rough second round to fire 77 (+6) on the final day of the tournament. After moving up 12 spots, she ended the tournament in a tie for 36th with a score of 242 (+29).

Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) ended the tournament as the highest-ranked Redhawk. Despite a final round 80 (+9), she tied for 20th, taking 234 (+21) strokes during the tournament.

Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) remained tied at 31st, the same spot she held at the beginning of Tuesday. She fired a second-straight 79 (+8) to end her three days in California.

Two Redhawk golfers ended the tournament tied with each other in 59th. Monica Keo (Oahu, Hawaii) and Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) both ended the tournament with 252 strokes (+39), but Keo carded an 81 (+10) Tuesday, two strokes lower than Gaddie's 83 (+12).  

As a team, Seattle U shot their best round of the tournament Tuesday, taking 317 strokes (+33) in the final round. SU finished with a tournament score of 965 (+113) and in 10th place, a spot the held all three days. Gonzaga won the team competition with a score of 897 (+45), while Tara Green of Montana held onto the individual title by carding a 220 (+7) over the course of the tournament.

The Redhawks next tee it up March 3-4 when they compete in the Red Rocks Invitational at Sedona, Ariz.
