REDHAWKS HEAD TO THE WINDY CITY: Seattle University heads to Chicago to face the Chicago State Cougars. The Redhawks are looking for their fourth straight win as well as their fourth straight win on the road. Seattle U has previously faced Chicago State three times, once this season, and twice during the 2010-11 season. Recently, the Redhawks have found success on the road, winning three of their last four contests away from home and look to continue this streak.

THE UTAH VALLEY GAME: The Redhawks were the first to score and continued their domination, both offensively and defensively, throughout the rest of the game. Despite a slower offensive start in the first half, Seattle U took an 8-2 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and held a 24-13 lead at the half. After halftime, the Redhawks were on fire offensively, shooting 60 percent (21-for-35) from the field in the second half. Talisa Rhea led all players with 19 points and added six rebounds and five assists. Kacie Sowell notched her 11th double-double of the season, contributing 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sylvia Shephard added 10 points and five rebounds and Daidra Brown scored ten points with six rebounds. As a team, the Redhawks shot 47 percent (31-for-66) from the field.The Redhawks held Utah Valley to just 27.1 percent from the field (16-for-59), including 13.3 percent (2-for-15) from behind the three-point line. The Redhawks outrebounded the Wolverines, 43-39. With this win, the Redhawks clinched their first winning season since 2008-09.

JOIN THE REDHAWKS FOR PRE-GAME "CHALK TALK" ON FEB. 26: At 1:30 p.m., 30 minutes prior to tipoff, fans are invited to a pre-game "Chalk Talk" with assistant coach Dorena Bingham. This will be a great time for fans to ask questions, get an inside look at Seattle U women's basketball, and for coaches to gain tips they can use in their own coaching careers. Fans wanting to attend can follow signs from the Connolly Center lobby.

SCOUTING CHICAGO STATE: The Cougars enter Wednesday's game with a 6-21 record and will play their third straight game at home. Chicago State split last weekend with a win and a loss, topping Houston Baptist, 63-41, on Feb. 16, and falling to Texas-Pan American, 59-52, on Feb. 18. As a team, the Cougars are scoring 55.9 points per game and giving up 69.2 points per contest. As a team, the Cougars are shooting 35.2 percent from the field, including 29.1 percent from behind the three-point line, and 70.2 percent from the free-throw line. Janay Dockery leads the team in scoring with 18.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Natalie Marlowe leads the team with 109 assists.

SEATTLE U VS. CHICAGO STATE: Seattle U has previously faced Chicago State three times, once earlier this season, and twice last season. The Redhawks are 1-2 all-time versus the Cougars. On Jan. 14, 2012, the Cougars visited the Connolly Center and the Redhawks came away victorious, winning the contest, 80-38. Seattle U scored the first 14 points of the game and held Chicago State scoreless until nearly the halfway point of the first half. Kacie Sowell recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and three other Redhawks added double digit scoring figures: Elle Kerfoot led with 18 points, Talisa Rhea scored 11, and Sylvia Shephard added 10. On Jan. 17, 2011, the Redhawks took on the Cougars on their home court and came away with a 59-53 loss. Elle Kerfoot and Carley Butcher both scored in double-digit figures for the Redhawks, but late fouls by Seattle U gave the Cougars free throw chances to insure the win. The two teams met in Seattle on Jan. 29, 2011 and the Cougars again came away with the win, 74-62. Though the two teams were tied, 31-31, at the half, Chicago State had a momentum surge in the second half, shooting 53.6 percent from the field after halftime. Elle Kerfoot (20 pts.) and Ashley Ward (12 pts.) scored double-digit figures for the Redhawks.

THREE-POINT QUEEN: With a three-pointer in the first minute of the second half Jan. 14 against Chicago State, Elle Kerfoot became Seattle U's all-time leader in made three-pointers (181), passing the previous mark of 168 set by Ashley Payne from 2003 to 2007.  On Feb. 9 at Portland State, Kerfoot became the 11th player in program history to score 1,000 career points.
