The Seattle University women's swim team posted several fast times that will be featured in the all-time top ten lists as the fourth and final day of the 2012 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Swimming and Diving Championships was held Saturday at East Los Angeles College.

After posting an NCAA B-cut qualifying time of 2:15.62 in the preliminaries of the 200 breaststroke, only 43/100ths of a second off her own school record, Alexis Morehouse (Vancouver, Wash.) finished fifth in the championship final of the event in 2:16.90. Kevlyn Richards (Gig Harbor, Wash.) posted times of 2:19.06 in the morning and 2:19.82 in the consolation final to finish fourth in that race and 12th overall.

Hanna Basler (El Cajon, Calif.) posted the second-best time ever in the 100 freestyle, finishing second in the bonus final and 18th overall with a time of 52.50 seconds. Rachel Leighter (Eugene, Ore.) improved on her preliminary time in the 200 backstroke bonus final, finishing 20th overall with a time of 2:05.76 after posting a time of 2:06.18 in the morning.

Marina Pomar-Enders (Mill Creek, Wash.) led Seattle U in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:30.02 to finish 17th overall, with Casey Hoffman (Federal Way, Wash.) finishing in 23rd place with a time of 17:45.16 and Whitney Dean (Campbell, Calif.) placing 29th in 18:01.04. All three times were season bests for the Redhawk swimmers.

The Redhawks closed out the night and the meet with the third-fastest 400 freestyle relay in school history. The quartet of Basler, Tina Nguyen (Hillsboro, Ore.), Melissa Randolf (Everett, Wash.), and Nicole Doi (Pleasanton, Calif.) combined to post a time of 3:34.29, good enough for 10th place in the event.

Seattle U finished in 10th place in the championships with 136 total points. BYU won the overall MPSF title with a final score of 732 points, finishing ahead of UC Santa Barbara's 699 points.

The Seattle University women's swim team will join 16 other Redhawk sports in moving to the Western Athletic Conference July 1, 2012.
