"Elle and Talisa are very deserving of this honor," said head coach Joan Bonvicini. "They are students of the game and would make outstanding coaches. They are both excellent ambassadors of Seattle University and our basketball program."
The "So You Want to Be a Coach" program is a joint effort between the WBCA and NCAA that is intended to prepare female student-athletes who are interested in a future career coaching women's basketball. A group of experienced coaches and administrators will teach and meet with the participants, and the weekend will also provide great networking opportunities for those involved.
To be eligible for selection to this program, the student-athlete must have used her final year of eligibility at a four-year institution or have graduated within the past year, must want to pursue a career in coaching, must be nominated by her head coach (an active WBCA member), must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and must contribute to the sport of women's basketball on and off the court.
The program will take place in Denver, Colo. as part of the WBCA National Convention and the NCAA Women's Final Four® from Mar. 30-Apr. 1.
