BACK ON THE ROAD: Seattle University begins a busy week by leaving late Monday afternoon for Moscow, Idaho, in preparation for Tuesday's contest against the Vandals of the University of Idaho, a future WAC opponent. The Redhawks are scheduled to return to Seattle Wednesday, practice Thursday, and then make the cross-country trip Friday to Farmville, Va., for Saturday afternoon's game at Longwood University. The good news is that five of the last six games are at home.

PROBABLE STARTING LINEUP

THE ARKANSAS STATE GAME: Cervante Burrell scored a season-high 24 points and Seattle University held Arkansas State to 37.5 percent shooting from the field as the Redhawks won their third straight home game with a 75-69 victory Saturday night at KeyArena. Burrell shot 9-of-13 from the field, including his first three-pointer of the season, and 5-of-7 from the free throw line for his 24 points, just two short of his career high, plus he dished out six assists and picked up two steals. Three Redhawks contributed 10 points apiece: Aaron Broussard, Sterling Carter, and Louis Green, who also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Seattle U shot 53.6 percent (30-of-56) from the field and won the rebounding battle, 38-28. The Red Wolves were able to stay in the game thanks to hitting 92.0 percent (23-of-25) of their free throw attempts and committing only 10 turnovers.

NATIONAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS: Aaron Broussard is 40th in the country in scoring average at 18.1 ppg. As a team, the Redhawks are eighth in Division I in rebounding, averaging 40.4 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING IDAHO: The Vandals come into Tuesday's game with a 12-11 overall record after a 72-68 victory at Nevada this past Saturday. Idaho is 6-4 at home so far this season. The Vandals are scoring 69.8 points per game and giving up 67.7 points per contest. As a team, Idaho is shooting 47.6 percent from the field, including 39.7 percent from behind the three-point line, and 68.0 percent from the free throw line. Three players are averaging at least 12 points per game, led by Deremy Geiger with 12.9 points per game. Geiger is shooting 44 percent from behind the three-point line, hitting 66-of-150 attempts from long distance. Kyle Barone is contributing 12.3 points per game, plus he leads the team with 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots per game. Stephen Madison has added 12.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Djim Bandoumel leads the squad in field goal shooting, hitting 56.4 percent of his field goal attempts, and Landon Tatum paces the team with 4.6 assists per game.

SEATTLE U VS. IDAHO:  Seattle University and Idaho are meeting for the 26th time in the history of the two basketball programs, with Seattle U holding a 14-11 series edge.

EARLIER THIS SEASON: Seattle University could not slow down an Idaho squad coming into the Dec. 11 contest with positive momentum after defeating Oregon State, as the Vandals shot 55.1 percent from the field on their way to a 73-62 victory over the Redhawks in an afternoon game at KeyArena. Sterling Carter hit five three-pointers as he led the Redhawks with a season-high 19 points, while Aaron Broussard finished with 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Despite pulling down 22 offensive rebounds, Seattle U scored only eight second-chance points as the team shot only 35.5 percent (27-of-76) from the field, including 6-of-26 from behind the three-point line. Idaho put the game away with 13 unanswered points over a seven-minute span in which the Redhawks missed all seven field goal attempts and committed five turnovers.

IT STARTS WITH AB: After passing the 1,000-point mark Nov. 22 at Montana State, senior Aaron Broussard is working his way up the Seattle U all-time scoring list. He currently has 1,306 career points, passing Carl Ervin, for16th place on the all-time scoring list. His next target is Stan Glowaski (1952-55) in 15th place with 1,308 points, followed by Lou West (1967-70) in 14th place with 1,341 points. Broussard also has 151 career steals, fourth place on the career steals list. Broussard was named the Jesuit Player of the Week by the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight after his all-tournament performance in the Elgin Baylor Classic. He has also been named Independent Player of the Week by College Sports Madness three times this season, including Jan. 30 after finishing with 18 points and nine rebounds against UC Irvine Jan. 24. Also this week, he was named Independent Player of the Month by College Hoops Net after averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game in January.

INDEPENDENT PLAYER OF WEEK: After scoring a season-high 24 points in Saturday night's victory over Arkansas State, senior guard Cervante Burrell has been named Independent Player of the Week by College Sports Madness, announced Monday by the website. Burrell shot 9-of-13 from the field, making all six of his field goal attempts in the first half that included a buzzer-beating three-pointer, his first of the season. He also went 5-for-7 from the free throw line to finish just two points shy of his career high in scoring. Burrell dished out six assists and earned two steals as the Redhawks defeated the Red Wolves, 75-69. The senior has been in the starting lineup for the last seven games, averaging 29.1 minutes, 10.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. For the season, he is shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 82.1 percent from the free throw line. With 275 career assists, Burrell has moved into 10th place on the school's all-time assist list, with Seattle U Hall of Famers Keith Harrell (287 assists) and Clint Richardson (289 assists) just ahead of him.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN: In less than two seasons, Sterling Carter has already moved into a tie for seventh place with Bernard Seals (2002-06) on Seattle U's all-time list for made three-pointers with 129. The next target for Carter is a tie for fifth with Mack Junior (1995-99) and Arne Klubberud (1995-99) having 144 career made three-pointers apiece.
