Members of the Seattle University men's swim team produced season-best, if not lifetime-best, times at Saturday's sessions of the Husky Invitational at the King County Aquatics Center.

Jordan Anderson (Newberg, Ore.) advanced to the "A" finals of the 100 butterfly, posting the fifth-best time out of 114 swimmers in the preliminaries with a mark of 50.02 seconds. He broke 50 seconds in the evening final, finishing fifth overall with a season-best time of 49.77 seconds. Anderson also had the 18th-fastest time in the 200 freestyle preliminaries, finishing his race in 1:44.17.

Joe Wertz (Richland, Wash.) posted the 10th-fastest time out of 93 swimmers in the preliminaries of the 100 backstroke with a mark of 51.63 seconds, and he followed that with a personal lifetime-best time of 51.19 seconds in the "B" finals, tying for second in that race and for 10th overall in the event. Wertz also competed in the preliminaries of the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:43.82, 15th-best in the morning session.

Also in the 200 freestyle, Murray Longbotham (Mercer Island, Wash.) posted the second-fastest time in the morning preliminaries with a season-best mark of 1:41.00. Nicolas Morrell (Bend, Ore.) was 16th in the preliminaries with a time of 1:43.84, and Douglas Pizac (Salt Lake City, Utah) was 25th with a time of 1:45.53.

Pizac came back for the "C" finals of the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:45.12 to finish fourth in that race and 20th overall in the event. Morrell also participated in the 100 backstroke preliminaries, finishing 25th in the session with a time of 53.33 seconds.

The Husky Invitational will conclude Sunday, with preliminaries scheduled for 9:30 a.m., and the finals set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
