Thanks to a partnership between MTR Western and Seattle University Athletics, an MTR bus wrapped in red with the Seattle U logo and a men's basketball player on the back will be transporting Seattle U coaches and student-athletes to area contests.
This year, the Redhawk bus is a 2010 Van Hool, Model C-2045, with room for 57 passengers, hardwood floors, leather seats, Wi-Fi access throughout the coach, and flat-screen monitors hooked into a DVD player. The bus is used by several teams for travel to and from athletic contests throughout the Northwest as well as for transfers to and from SeaTac Airport.
Once again, the bus is wrapped in red with the main Seattle U athletics logo and the Redhawk head along the side of the bus. After a photo of Garrett Lever graced the back of the bus last year, senior Aaron Broussard is pictured on this year's wrap, along with the logo of the Western Athletic Conference, the home of Seattle U athletics beginning July 1, 2012, and the Redhawk athletics website address (GoSeattleU.com), where fans can go for ticket information.
"We are very excited about our continued partnership with Seattle University," Alicia Heathcote, senior sales manager for MTR Western, said. "As an organization, we offer a one-of-a-kind service at a very high level. Seattle University is moving in the direction to compete at that same high level, and naturally we compliment and fully support one another. We appreciate our partnership with Seattle University and look forward to our continued growth together!"
MTR Western is the official charter bus company for the athletics department at Seattle University and is committed to safely transporting Redhawk student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff to their destinations.
