The Seattle University athletic department today announced a partnership with ROOT SPORTS to broadcast three Seattle University men's basketball games from KeyArena during the 2011-12 season.
ROOT SPORTS will broadcast this Saturday's home opener between Seattle University and San Francisco on a tape-delayed basis beginning at 4 p.m., after the conclusion of the football game between Washington and Oregon State. The station will pick up live broadcasts of the Dec. 1 game against Stanford and the Dec. 21 contest against Virginia, both starting at 7 p.m., with the possibility of adding a fourth game later in the season.
"Our relationship with ROOT SPORTS has been extremely important to the growth of the Seattle U men's basketball program," Bill Hogan, Seattle University Director of Athletics, said. "I am glad that this partnership is continuing to give our fans around the region a chance to see the Redhawks in action against three solid programs."
"We are excited to have Seattle University basketball on our network again this year," said Mark Jorgensen, Senior Vice President and General Manager for ROOT SPORTS. "It is our goal to continually provide Northwest sports fans with dynamic programming and adding Redhawk basketball games to the lineup is an important part of that."
The Seattle University men's basketball team will begin the 2011-12 season with a road contest against Portland State Tuesday, Nov. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. The three home games to be broadcast by ROOT SPORTS are part of a 15-game home slate for the Redhawks at KeyArena this season.
