A Look at 2010-11: Seattle U concluded the 2010-11 season with an 8-22 overall record. Senior Elle Kerfoot led the squad throughout the year, averaging a team-high 13.7 points and 3.8 assists per game.
Welcome to 2011-12: The Redhawks enter the 2011-12 season focused on seeing postseason play. Due to the reclassification process back to NCAA Division I status, the squad is not eligible for NCAA-hosted tournament play; however they can participate in all other postseason tournaments.
This Year's Team: The Redhawks enter the 2011-12 campaign featuring a new look. In addition to seven returning letterwinners, the Redhawks welcome eight newcomers. A pair of transfers and six true freshmen will bolster the lineup, as well as senior Maggie McCarthy returning to action after missing last season due to injury.
Kerfoot Plays for Canada at World University Games: Senior Elle Kerfoot was selected to the Canadian World University Games roster this past summer. She traveled to China with the team to participate in the international tournament. She is the first Redhawk to be selected to a youth national team program since head coach Joan Bonvicini took over the program.
Redhawks Sweep Preseason College Sports Madness Honors: The College Sports Madness Preseason All-Independent Team saw strong representation from Seattle U as head coach Joan Bonvicini was named Coach of the Year, senior Elle Kerfoot was picked as Player of the Year and Renee Dillard-Brown was named Freshman of the Year.

Rhea to Make SU Debut: After sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, senior Talisa Rhea will suit up in 2011-12 for her final season of eligibility. Rhea, who was a three-time All-Pac 12 performer at Oregon State, will be looked to help anchor the offensive efforts.
Veteran Lineup: With the addition of senior transfer Talisa Rhea, who sat out last season, the Redhawk starting lineup returns a veteran experienced group. The squad will be anchored by senior point guard Elle Kerfoot, who returns to build upon her standout career.
Brown Looks to Be Defensive Menace in 2011-12:
Junior Daidra Brown looks to pick up where she left off
last season, as a defensive menace. She averaged a Redhawk record 3.2 steals
per game for 96 steals in 30 games played in 2010-11. She was also in the
top-10 in the nation in steals throughout her first season at Seattle U after
transferring from College of Southern Idaho.
Status Update: Freshmen Monique Abbs currently is inactive, while both freshman Kim Flournoy and senior Carley
Butcher are out for the year due to injury.
The Captains: Seniors Elle Kerfoot and Talisa Rhea have been selected this season's co-captains. Kerfoot was a co-captain last year, as well.
Final Year of Independence: 2011 will mark SU's final season playing as an NCAA DI Independent. On July 1, 2012 Seattle U will officially join the Western Athletic Conference as full members.
Scouting UC Santa Barbara: The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are coming off a 19-12 overall, 12-4 Big West 2010-11 season. UCSB reached the WNIT last season, falling 67-64 to USC in the opening round.

The Last Time Seattle U Faced UC Santa Barbara: The Redhawks dropped a 67-57 decision to UCSB in their last meeting on Feb. 20, 2011 in Santa Barbara, Calif. A 13-point halftime lead would prove to be the necessary point cushion for the Gauchos in the even paced contest. Point guard Elle Kerfoot scored a game-high 20 points.
Scouting UC Davis: UC Davis travels to Seattle U following their season opener at Washington on Friday, Nov. 11. The Aggies were 24-9 overall, 10-6 Big West in 2010-11, earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Davis fell in the opening round 86-59 to Stanford.
