The Seattle University baseball team will wrap up its fall practice session with the annual Black and Scarlet World Series, to take place on consecutive Saturdays.
The first two games will be played as a doubleheader Saturday, Oct. 8, at Steve Cox Memorial Stadium, with the first game scheduled to start at 11 a.m. If the two games are split, then the third and deciding game will take place a week later, Saturday, Oct. 15, also at Steve Cox Memorial Stadium, at a time to be determined. All games of the intrasquad series are scheduled to go seven innings.
The 2010-11 baseball team finished with a 21-30-1 overall record, almost double the win total from the previous year, which was the first competitive season since the reestablishment of the baseball program after 24 years. There are 23 players from last year's roster back on this year's team.
The 2012 baseball schedule is being finalized and will be released soon.
