In the first half, Seattle U was aggressive on offense, forcing Denver's defense to play on their heels, while tallying an 11-5 shot advantage.
Midway through the half, SU tallied seven consecutive shots, including a Marshall Kosaka (Burien, Wash.) shot that went just high and hit the crossbar.
The Redhawks remained persistent and continued to work to get the early advantage. Their efforts remained unrewarded before halftime, as a 43rd minute Mikey Ramos' (Spokane Valley, Wash.) shot would go just high and hit the crossbar, as well.
In the second half, the Pioneers adjusted their offensive efforts and opened up action bombarding the Redhawk box immediately, behind four consecutive shots.
At the 49:26-minute mark, Denver's Cole Chapleski stole the ball in the middle of the field and dished it out to Zach Bolden on the right side. Bolden found an opening 20 yards out and shot in the eventual game-winner minutes into the final half of regulation.
Seattle U worked to even the score through the remainder of the match, but the Denver defense was able to deflect their efforts.
In the match, SU outshot DU 18-15; however the Pioneers held a 6-3 on frame advantage.
The Redhawks (2-12-2 overall, 1-8 MPSF) will conclude the regular season at home on Saturday, Nov. 5, versus CSU Bakersfield at 1 p.m. Prior to kickoff, SU will honor the careers of the graduating senior class.
