Caitlin McCleary (The Dalles, Ore.) is in the lead after 36 holes and three other Seattle University golfers are in the top 20 as the Redhawk women's golf team is in second place after two rounds Sunday of the Firestone Grill Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Cal Poly at the Monarch Dunes Golf Course.

McCleary was the only golfer in the 41-participant field to break 70 in either round, shooting five-under-par 66 in the first round to take the lead. Although she struggled with a six-over-par 77 in the second round, no one shot lower than 74 on the second circuit of the day, allowing McCleary, at one-over-par 143, to maintain a six-stroke lead over Cal Poly's Kirsten Locke at the end of the day.

Lori Pearson (Seattle, Wash.) posted scores of 77 (+6) and 81 (+10) to end the day in a tie for 13th place with a two-round total of 158 (+16). Shannon Quinn (Shoreline, Wash.) improved from the first round to the second round, following an 84 (+13) with a 76 (+5) to post a cumulative score of 160 (+18), good enough for a tie for 17th place.

Monica Keo (Oahu, Hawaii) is also tied for 17th place with a two-round total of 160 after shooting rounds of 77 (+6) and 83 (+12). Christine Cook (Yakima, Wash.) shot rounds of 79 (+8) and 85 (+14) to end the day in a tie for 26th place with a 36-hole total of 164 (+22).

Seattle U was tied with Cal State Fullerton for the lead after the first-round by combining for a score of 299 (+15). However, a second-round score of 317 (+33) left the Redhawks in second place with a two-round total of 616 (+48), seven shots behind Cal State Fullerton.

The third and final round of the tournament will take place Monday, beginning at 8 a.m.
