The Seattle University baseball program welcomed over 150 guests to its inaugural Fall Ball last Friday, Oct. 7, at the Campion Tower Ballroom.
Seattle U alumnus Brian DiJulio and his band The Love Jacks provided the music for everyone to dance to, including a special dance that featured members of the 2011-12 Redhawk baseball team dancing with their mothers.
"It was a great night. Brian and his band were incredible. It seems like we are always doing fundraisers, so we wanted to change it up and just have a night of fun with our alumni and families. That is why we decided on a dance," head baseball coach Donny Harrel said. "We had great responses from everyone that attended about how great the band was and how the event was just plain fun!"
The baseball players quickly recovered from their night of fun to play in a doubleheader Saturday to start the intrasquad Fall World Series. The Scarlet team won both games of the twinbill, 4-1 and 6-4, but the Black team will get a chance at redemption Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 11 a.m. at Steve Cox Memorial Stadium in White Center.
Details are being finalized for the annual Meet the Redhawks Dinner, to take place before the start of the 2012 season.
