The Seattle University women's tennis team has racked up the victories during the first two days of the EWU Fall Classic, hosted by Eastern Washington at the EWU Tennis Courts.

Gabriella Weissmann (Simi Valley, Calif.) has advanced to the finals of the flight three singles draw, starting her weekend with a straight-set victory over Madeline Parker of Gonzaga (6-3, 6-3). After defeating second-seeded Lauren Gibson of Montana in straight sets Friday afternoon (6-0, 6-1), Weissmann was victorious over Gonzaga's Taurie Bjerken in three sets Saturday (7-6 (7-1), 5-7, 6-4) to advance to Sunday's final against Montana's Maddy Murray.

Seattle U is guaranteed to win the flight four singles draw, as Corinne Wurden (Poulsbo, Wash.) will face Sarah Lucas (Las Vegas, Nev.) in Sunday's final. Wurden swept top-seed Kristen Hibbs of Eastern Washington (6-0, 6-0) Friday afternoon before coming from behind to defeat Kelly Humphrey of Gonzaga in Saturday's semifinals (5-7, 6-2, 6-1). On the other side of the bracket, Lucas defeated Hanley Caras of Gonzaga (6-0, 6-1) and Sandy Dennett (6-0, 6-1), also from Gonzaga, to set up the Redhawks' first main-draw flight victory since the reestablishment of the women's tennis program in 2008.

In flight one singles, Katrina Schwab (Spokane, Wash.) defeated Andrea De La Torre of Montana State in straight sets Friday (6-3, 6-3) to advance to the quarterfinals. Schwab fell to second-seeded Prue Teitzel of Gonzaga Saturday in a super-tiebreaker (7-5, 2-6, 10-8).

Lindsey Newman (South Whidbey, Wash.) upset second-seeded Anastasia Romantsova of Washington State in the flight two singles main draw with a super-tiebreaker victory (6-3, 2-6, 10-5) to reach that bracket's quarterfinals. Saturday, Newman advanced to the semifinals with a straight-set win over Gonzaga's Alexandra Tallas (6-4, 6-2) before losing to Laurence Pelchat of Montana (6-3, 6-3).

Anna Lambert (Spokane, Wash.) eliminated fourth-seeded Gabi Villegas of Montana State in the first round of the flight three singles draw (6-4, 6-4) before dropping a tough match to Murray in a super-tiebreaker (6-4, 5-7, 10-5).

Earlier in the flight four singles main draw, Mikaela Peterson (Spokane, Wash.) fell in a super-tiebreaker to Alyssa Nagai of Eastern Washington (6-4, 1-6, 10-5), Natalie Martin (Phoenix, Ariz.) lost to Dennett in straight sets (6-2, 6-0), and Aya Sugimoto (Poulsbo, Wash.) lost to fourth-seeded Brittany Ellingsen in straight sets (6-2, 6-3). Martin rebounded to defeat Caras in the consolation bracket in a super-tiebreaker (4-6, 6-1, 10-2) and will face Hibbs in the flight four singles consolation final Sunday morning.

In doubles play, all four duos entered reached the quarterfinal round of the main draw. Lambert and Newman have advanced all the way to the finals of the main draw, defeating Caras and Dennett of Gonzaga, 8-0, and third-seeded Ksenia Googe and Romantsova of Washington State, 8-6, Friday morning.

Saturday morning, Lambert and Newman eliminated teammates Wurden and Schwab in the quarterfinals, 8-6, before defeating Katie Edwards and Kristina Zauere of Gonzaga in the semifinals, 8-3. The two Redhawks will face Sophie Vickers and Victoria Lozano of Idaho in Sunday's doubles final.

Wurden and Schwab had defeated Molly Knox and Beatriz Flores of Idaho, 9-7, as well as Parker and Humphrey of Gonzaga, 8-2, to reach the quarterfinals. Weissmann and Lucas advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Montana's Gibson and Seattle U's Martin, 8-6, as well as Ellingsen and Kelsey Knight of Eastern Washington, 8-3. However, the sophomore tandem lost in the quarterfinals to Moira Hedberg and Ryann Warner of Eastern Washington, 9-7.

Peterson and Sugimoto also earned two victories in the main doubles draw with wins over Chelsea Patton and Chrissy Uriarte of Eastern Washington, 8-4, and second-seeded Teitzel and Kylie Peek of Gonzaga, 8-2. The twosome fell to Vickers and Lozano in Saturday's quarterfinals, 8-4.

Sunday's action, which features three main-draw finals involving Seattle U players, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
