The Seattle University women's tennis team earned four victories out of six matches on the final day of the Cougar Classic Sunday, hosted by Washington State at the WSU Outdoor Courts.

In the flight three consolation bracket, Corinne Wurden (Poulsbo, Wash.) defeated Lucy Fairbotham of Montana State in straight sets (6-4, 6-1), while Sarah Lucas (Las Vegas, Nev.) was victorious over Gabi Villegas of Montana State, also in straight sets (6-2, 6-0).

The flight four consolation bracket concluded with two Redhawks standing, as Natalie Martin (Phoenix, Ariz.) defeated Samantha Teigen of Lewis-Clark State in a super-tiebreaker (6-1, 4-6, 10-2), and Aya Sugimoto (Poulsbo, Wash.) needed the same to defeat Boise State's Kaitlyn Brown (6-4, 6-7, 7-1).

In other singles matches Sunday, Gabriella Weissmann (Simi Valley, Calif.) lost to Marlena Pietzuch of Boise State in straight sets (6-4, 6-2), and Anna Lambert (Spokane, Wash.) fell to Montana State's Ellie Crum, also in straight sets (7-6, 6-3).

The Seattle University women's tennis team will continue the fall season next weekend at the EWU Fall Classic in Cheney, Wash., Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
