2011-12 Seattle U Men's Basketball Schedule
Seattle University head men's basketball coach Cameron Dollar has announced the schedule for the 2011-12 season, which includes 15 home games at KeyArena, a game at the ShoWare Center in Kent, and the renewal of the crosstown rivalry with Washington.
For the third straight year, the Redhawks will face Pacific Lutheran in an exhibition game, to take place Saturday, Nov. 12, at KeyArena. After making the short trip south to open the regular season at Portland State Tuesday, Nov. 15, Seattle U opens the home schedule Saturday, Nov. 19, against San Francisco, part of a doubleheader with the SU women's basketball team.
A trip to Montana State Tuesday, Nov. 22, is followed by a contest against Evergreen State at the ShoWare Center in Kent Monday, Nov. 28. The Redhawks start December with Pac-12 opponent Stanford coming to KeyArena Thursday, Dec. 1, and then the team travels across the country to face Harvard Sunday, Dec. 4.
Idaho is the first of three future conference foes on the 2011-12 schedule, as the Redhawks host the Vandals Sunday, Dec. 11. Seattle U hits the road for games at Arkansas State Wednesday, Dec. 14, and at Utah State Saturday, Dec. 17. The Redhawks welcome Virginia to KeyArena Wednesday, Dec. 21, in a rematch of the game won by Seattle U in Charlottesville last season.
After two years in a single-game format, the Elgin Baylor Classic returns to the two-day, four-team classic style Dec. 29-30, with Seattle U facing reclassifying school Nebraska-Omaha Thursday, Dec. 29, and future WAC rival San Jose State Friday, Dec. 30. Coppin State is also involved in this year's edition of the Elgin Baylor Classic.
Seattle U will face Utah Valley twice in a six-day span: Saturday, Jan. 7, in Orem, Utah, followed by the rematch at KeyArena Friday, Jan. 13. In between, the Redhawks take the four-mile trip to Alaska Airlines Arena to face the Washington Huskies Tuesday, Jan. 10. After hosting Utah Valley, the Redhawks welcome Eastern Washington to KeyArena Monday, Jan. 16, followed by the third WAC school to come to Seattle this season, Utah State Thursday, Jan. 19.
The Redhawks travel to UC Irvine for a game Tuesday, Jan. 24, followed by the second meeting of the season between Seattle U and Arkansas State Saturday, Feb. 4, this one at KeyArena. After road games to Idaho Tuesday, Feb. 7, and to Longwood Saturday, Feb. 11, Seattle U will play five of its final six games of the season at home.
That final stretch begins Tuesday, Feb. 14, against Northwest University, followed by home games against Pepperdine Thursday, Feb. 16, and against UC Davis Monday, Feb. 20. The final road game of the year takes place at Fresno State Thursday, Feb. 23, before the Redhawks close out the regular season with KeyArena contests against Longwood Wednesday, Feb. 29, and against Portland State Saturday, March 10.
Once again, all Seattle U regular season games are slated to be broadcast on 710 ESPN Seattle with Dave Grosby and Gary Hill, Jr. Also, all home games at KeyArena will be video streamed online.
Season tickets for Seattle University men's basketball are now on sale starting at $108 per seat. Individual game tickets will go sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. The ticket office can be reached at 206-398-GOSU (4678).
