"We still need to learn how to come out ready to play on the road," head coach Shannon Ellis said. "LMU is a good team who played a solid match. We did not respond."
In the first set, Seattle U took an early lead on back-to-back kills by Allie Hoskins (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jaeckel, but four unanswered points from Loyola Marymount allowed the Lions to pull ahead, 7-5. Jordan Keller (Mukilteo, Wash.) earned a block assist and a kill to pull the Redhawks into an 8-8 tie, but the Lions took the lead for good with an 8-0 scoring run, followed by a 7-0 run to close out the set.

A kill by Julia Bonadio (Phoenix, Ariz.) and a Farley service ace gave Seattle U a 6-4 lead in the third set, but that was short-lived, as the Lions went on a 12-2 scoring run, paced by two kills and four service aces from Litara Keil. The Redhawks attempted to get back into the set with a 6-1 run of their own, but Loyola Marymount clinched the match victory with a kill by Ashley Maxfeldt.
