Seniors Katie Gould (Medford, Ore.) and Kate Zender (Enumclaw, Wash.) earned the honor for the second consecutive year. Gould posted a 3.79 grade point average while majoring in sport and exercise science, while Zender, majoring in humanities for teaching, finished the 2010-11 academic year with a 3.47 GPA.
Junior college transfer Natalie Leyland (Richland, Wash.) received recognition for a 3.25 grade point average while majoring in social work. Sophomores Theresa Clark (Lakewood, Colo.) and Allegra Wilde (Kennewick, Wash.) also found their way onto the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the second straight year, with Clark earning a 3.53 grade point average as a psychology major and Wilde, a Second Team All-PCSC Mountain Division honoree, notching a 3.75 GPA as an accounting major.
Karina Smyth (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) had the highest GPA among the Seattle U honorees, earning a 3.90 grade point average as a pre-major. She was joined on the Commissioner's Honor Roll by fellow freshmen Holly Martinez (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Sarah Petosa (Auburn, Wash.), with Martinez, a journalism major, earning a 3.08 GPA and Petosa, majoring in sport and exercise science, collecting a 3.73 grade point average.
To make the honor roll, a student-athlete had to record a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for the 2010-11 academic year.
Seattle University concluded the 2011 season with an 11-35 overall record, including a 7-13 mark within the PCSC Mountain Division. The Redhawks will compete in the PCSC during the 2012 season before moving to the Western Athletic Conference July 1, 2012.
