“I am very proud of both Allegra and Hannah for being recognized for their accomplishments on the field this season,” said head coach Dan Powers. “They both were offensive leaders on our team all season and were integral parts in our continued growth and development at the DI level.”
Wilde earned her second consecutive all-conference honor, following her team-leading .336 batting average in 46 consecutive starts. The Washingtonian, who moved to shortstop this season, was 49-for-146 on the season. She tallied 30 RBIs, 23 runs, 12 doubles, three home runs and a triple. Wilde held down several statistical categories in the conference this year, including being in the top-15 in batting average, ranking No. 10 in hits and No. 5 in doubles.
After beginning her career primarily as a pitcher and first baseman, Klein moved to third base this season. Klein made 43 starts at the corner, posting a .301 batting average. She went 37-for-123 on the year, with 18 runs, 17 RBIs, seven doubles and a home run. The infielder maintained her stance as one of the top offensive performers for the Redhawks throughout the season.
Both Klein and Wilde will return in 2012 to help SU compete for the PCSC Mountain Division crown.
