Seattle University and Pacific did everything they could to get Saturday's game in before the rains came, but the forecasted weather moved in and the teams were forced to suspend the game after three innings with Pacific ahead, 2-1.

The two teams agreed to start the game at 6:30 p.m., a half-hour ahead of schedule, and another five minutes were saved when both squads decided to forego the playing of the National Anthem. Dustin Torchio put Pacific on the board in the top of the first with a solo home run to right field, and Jason Taasaas drove in Daniel Johnston in the second inning with a single to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.

Seattle U came back in the bottom of the second, as Cullen Hendrickson (Auburn, Wash.) drew a leadoff walk, and Riley Tompkins (Lynnwood, Wash.) followed with a walk of his own. Nick Latta (Tacoma, Wash.) reached base when the throw to first by Taasaas on a chopper in front of the plate went high. After a fielder's choice cut down Hendrickson trying to score, Trent Oleszczuk (Beaverton, Ore.) sent a shot towards third base, where Torchio blocked it but could not scramble to throw out Oleszczuk in time, scoring Tompkins on the play to cut the Tiger lead to 2-1.

Arlo Evasick (Port Ludlow, Wash.) started for Seattle U, allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs with three strikeouts in three innings, throwing 49 pitches. Marcus Pointer pitched the first three innings for Pacific, allowing one hit, four walks, and one unearned run with one strikeout, throwing 54 pitches. It is expected that both teams will start with different pitchers when the game resumes in the top of the fourth inning.

This game is scheduled to resume Sunday, May 15, at 12 noon, with the regularly scheduled game to follow, but those plans are weather-dependent.
