"Katie finished her career on a high note with a .306 batting average in (Pacific Coast Softball Conference) PCSC play," said head coach Dan Powers. "She represents the best qualities we look for in our student-athletes at SU. She works hard on-and-off the field and leads by example."
Gould, who began her collegiate career as an outfielder, transitioned to first base in 2011. She tallied 43 starts and boasted a PCSC-best fielding percentage of 1.000 on the season. In addition to her conference .306 batting average, for second best on the team, she was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases on the year.
Named to the Seattle U Dean's List for a majority of her collegiate career, Gould has successfully balanced the rigors of academics and athletics. She boasts a 3.497 cumulative grade point average as a sport and exercise science major.
A leader on-and-off the field, Gould was an integral part in SU's transition back to NCAA Division I athletics.
