The Seattle University baseball team encourages those fans who have not already done so to make plans to see the Redhawks take on the Oregon Ducks Tuesday, May 10, at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

Thanks to cooperation with the Tacoma Rainiers, the AAA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, the Redhawks and Ducks will play a game at this historic stadium that just completed a $30 million renovation.

Both Seattle University and Oregon have reestablished their baseball programs after long periods without the sport. Seattle U is in its second year of competition after not sponsoring the sport for 24 years, while Oregon is competing in its third season after 28 seasons of inactivity. After 12 straight Oregon victories, Seattle U defeated the Ducks for the first time ever March 14, 2010, in Eugene, Ore., 6-4.

All fans will enter through the First Base Gate, located next to the ticket booths. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 as well as senior citizens, and tickets will be available on a general admission basis beginning one hour (5 p.m.) before game time. Seattle University students, faculty, and staff will receive free admission with a valid SU ID.

Also, the Seattle University baseball program is inviting all current members of the United States military to the game in Tacoma. All military personnel with a valid ID will receive free admission, and the Redhawks will be wearing special uniform tops to honor the men and women who serve in the military.

There will be a $5 charge for parking at Cheney Stadium for this game, and the party deck in left field, the grass berm off the right field line, and the Dugout Club seats behind home plate will be closed for the night. Directons to Cheney Stadium can be found by clicking here.

Seattle U and Oregon will conclude the midweek series with a single game Wednesday, April 11, at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue beginning at 12 noon.
